THE SHORT VERSION

  • Fuerza Regida won eight awards, Bad Bunny won seven, and Karol G, Peso Pluma and Romeo Santos each won four.
  • Telemundo says the main award results reflect chart performance during a defined year-long window tracked by Billboard and Luminate.
  • Karol G won the new Fan Favorite Artist category, which was selected by public vote rather than by the chart method.

The top winners in Miami

Fuerza Regida led the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards with eight wins. Bad Bunny finished with seven, and Karol G, Peso Pluma and Romeo Santos each earned four. The ceremony took place on October 22 at Miami’s James L. Knight Center and aired live on Telemundo and Peacock. Telemundo’s results page lists winners across 47 categories; El País confirms the venue and reports that Peacock offered a replay. El País’ ceremony coverage provides an independent account of the leading results.

A trophy total covers several kinds of wins. Some categories name a song’s performance on a specific chart; others recognize an artist, album or tour. Four wins for Marlboro Rojo come from song categories, while Bad Bunny’s seven include Tour of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. The detailed categories show what each count consists of.

Most awards use a defined chart period

Telemundo and Billboard set the eligibility window from September 13, 2025, through September 5, 2026. Telemundo says finalists and winners in the main categories were determined by chart performance, using streams, album and digital-song sales, radio airplay and touring data tracked by Billboard and Luminate. The awards spanned 47 categories in fields such as Latin Pop, Tropical, Latin Rhythm and Regional Mexican. The finalist announcement publishes the dates and method.

The category name tells readers which part of an artist’s work was recognized. Streaming Song of the Year and Global 200 Latin Song of the Year name song categories. Artist awards cover performer or group categories, and Tour of the Year sits in a separate field. Career awards and Fan Favorite Artist follow their own announced methods, so the list includes more than one kind of result.

The official recap also places special honors beside the chart-based results. The Billboard Vanguard, Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement and Icon awards recognize contributions or careers, while Fan Favorite Artist was chosen by a public vote. They appear in the same ceremony totals, but they are not all measuring the same thing. A reader comparing counts should separate chart categories, audience choice and special honors.

Several category names look similar but refer to different kinds of results. Top Latin Album of the Year recognizes a specific record; Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year recognizes a performer and is split into Male, Female and Duo or Group fields. Hot Latin Song of the Year names a song, while Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year honors the performer. The distinctions explain why a song, its artists and its album can each generate separate awards.

Four wins for Fuerza Regida came from one song

Marlboro Rojo won Hot Latin Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year, Global 200 Latin Song of the Year and Regional Mexican Song of the Year. Those four category wins account for half of Fuerza Regida’s eight awards. The group also won Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Duo or Group; Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group; and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Duo or Group.

The eighth award was Billboard’s Vanguard Award. Telemundo described it as recognition for the group’s creative work and role in bringing Mexican music to global audiences. The distinction is visible in the category names: four awards went to one song across four chart categories, three recognized group or artist performance, and one was a special industry honor. That is how the eight-win total was assembled.

Bad Bunny, Karol G and two major collaborations

Bad Bunny’s seven wins included Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male, Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Male, Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year, Solo, and Songwriter of the Year. That list moves from artist categories to touring and songwriting recognition, giving fans a quick view of the fields in which he was honored.

Karol G won four awards. She shared Latin Pop Song of the Year with Marco Antonio Solís for Coleccionando Heridas and took Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female; Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female; and Fan Favorite Artist. Peso Pluma also had four. Two came with Tito Double P for the album DINASTÍA, which won Top Latin Album of the Year and Top Regional Mexican Album of the Year. They also shared Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event for daño. Peso Pluma’s fourth award was Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Solo. The arithmetic is three shared results with Tito Double P plus one solo artist award. Romeo Santos’ four included two song awards with Prince Royce for Lokita Por Mí, a Top Tropical Album award for Better Late Than Never, and Tropical Artist of the Year, Solo.

Three artists finished with three awards each: Prince Royce, Rosalía and Tito Double P. Omar Courtz won two. Aventura, Bizarrap, Burna Boy, Cristian Castro, Daddy Yankee, MAG, Maná, Marco Antonio Solís, Rubén Blades and Wisin & Yandel each took one award, according to Telemundo’s recap. Their wins add genre, collaboration and career categories to the list of leading artists.

The public selected Fan Favorite Artist

Fan Favorite Artist was new for 2026. Telemundo said the public would choose the winner from five finalists: Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Fuerza Regida, Karol G and Prince Royce. Voting opened on September 9 and closed at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on October 22. The ceremony recap names Karol G as the winner.

The vote added a direct audience choice to an event whose other main categories were determined by chart performance. It also accounts for one of Karol G’s four awards. The rules and finalists were announced before the show, while the winner was revealed during the ceremony. That is the complete public-vote result released by Telemundo; the article does not state the final tally.

Career honors and the Juan Gabriel tribute

Rosalía received three awards: Top Latin Pop Album of the Year for LUX, Latin Pop Artist of the Year, Solo, and Billboard’s Hall of Fame Award. Telemundo said the Hall of Fame honor recognized her musical innovation, artistic vision and international influence. Cristian Castro received the Lifetime Achievement Award for more than three decades in music, and Rubén Blades received the Billboard Icon Award for a career spanning more than five decades.

The live programme included a tribute to Juan Gabriel marking ten years since his death. Telemundo says Carlos Rivera, Jessi Uribe, Pablo Alborán, Paola Jara and Yahritza y Su Esencia took part. Carmen Villalobos and Javier Poza hosted the show. The official performance roster also named Chuyin, Elvis Crespo, Fuerza Regida, Ha*Ash, Ivy Queen, Kapo, Manuel Turizo, Ozuna, Víctor Manuelle, Wisin and Xavi among the acts appearing across the evening.

For viewers who missed the ceremony, El País reported that the show streamed live on Telemundo and could be watched again on Peacock. The 2026 winners therefore have a clear public record: the category results, the new fan-selected award and the special honors were presented from Miami on October 22.
