KATSEYE Postpones Detroit Show Hours Before Showtime

KATSEYE postponed its show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday night, hours before the group was due on stage. Billboard puts the announcement roughly 40 minutes before the scheduled start, with doors already open and fans seated when the message appeared on the big screens.

KATSEYE called off its Little Caesars Arena date about 40 minutes before showtime after Megan Skiendiel could not perform, and tickets will be honoured at a new date neither report has.

THE SHORT VERSION

  • KATSEYE postponed its show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday night, roughly 40 minutes before the scheduled start, after Megan Skiendiel was unable to perform.
  • Billboard reports the venue confirmed the postponement and that a new date will be announced, with Tuesday's tickets valid for it; Rolling Stone carries no ticket detail and places the thank-you in the group's own posts.
  • Neither report names the illness, gives the new date, or says where a rescheduled Detroit show would sit before the North American leg ends on Nov. 28.

A Detroit date pulled before showtime

KATSEYE postponed its show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Tuesday night, hours before the group was due on stage. Billboard puts the announcement roughly 40 minutes before the scheduled start, with doors already open and fans seated when the message appeared on the big screens. The group's Michigan debut now waits for a new date. Rolling Stone reports that the statement went out hours before the group was set to take the stage, and that Megan Skiendiel would need time to recover from an unspecified illness.

Rolling Stone prints the group's Instagram Stories post, which opens with the words "We’re so sorry to share that tonight’s show at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness". Billboard carries the Megan line instead of that opening, and its wording runs that she is unwell and unable to perform. The two versions of the message differ by a single article before the phrase about the time she needs. Neither paper says who wrote it, and neither has a word from Skiendiel herself.

Two statements, two speakers, one script

Billboard carries two messages, one from the group and one from the arena. The venue urged EYEKONS to hang tight, confirmed the postponement on its social accounts, apologised especially to those who had travelled to be there and thanked them for their patience. Rolling Stone carries only the group's posts, and gives the thank-you to the members, who add that they love the audience and cannot wait to see it soon.

The near-identical opening line lands in different mouths. Billboard gives it to the venue, in a version that names the show and the building; Rolling Stone gives its version to the group's Instagram Stories. Neither paper names a spokesperson for the arena, and neither says whether the two statements were coordinated before they went out. What both establish is that the tour and the building spoke on the same evening, and that no promoter and no label is quoted anywhere in either report.

Tickets stay valid while a date is missing

Billboard reports that a new date will be announced and that Tuesday night's tickets will be valid for it, with an email to follow shortly. Rolling Stone carries no ticket information at all. That is the widest gap between the two pieces: one treats the postponement as a scheduling problem with a fix on the way, the other treats it as a health update and leaves the logistics out.

Neither paper gives the new date, a refund window or a deadline for the announcement. Neither explains the "illness within its ranks" that Billboard's first paragraph names, and that phrase is the only description of the cause in either file. No promoter statement appears in Rolling Stone, and no label statement appears in Billboard. For a sold-out arena date, the questions a ticket holder would actually ask are the ones the two reports leave open.

Skiendiel, an illness and an earlier absence

Skiendiel is the only member named in connection with the postponement, and the illness is not identified. Billboard's sources at the show say the group ran its VIP soundcheck without her while she rested, which places the decision after the doors had opened rather than days before. Rolling Stone calls the illness unspecified. Neither paper says how long she is expected to be out, and neither has a comment from her, from a doctor or from the tour's production company.

Rolling Stone adds the one piece of medical history in either file: earlier this year the group dropped out of Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival after Skiendiel sprained an ankle. Billboard does not mention it. Neither paper links the ankle to the illness that stopped Detroit, and Rolling Stone does not present the earlier withdrawal as a pattern. The two absences sit in one report only, and the connection between them is left for the reader to weigh.

Wildworld, Live Nation and a number one

Billboard sets the date inside the group's WILDWORLD TOUR, which it describes as sold out across Europe, the United Kingdom and, currently, North America, with Live Nation promoting. The same report ties the run to WILD, released through HYBE x Geffen Records, which reached number one on the Billboard 200 in August. It notes that the previous album, 2025's Beautiful Chaos, peaked at number four on the all-genres albums chart.

Rolling Stone dates the North American leg instead: it kicked off Oct. 13 and runs through Nov. 28. The paper also reports that two of the six members are on hiatus. Manon Bannerman announced a break for mental health reasons, and in August Sophia Laforteza said she was stepping away temporarily; Laforteza is set to rejoin in January, while no official date has been given for Bannerman's return. Neither is taking part in the North American dates.

Chicago on Thursday, then a long break

Billboard reports the next booking is the United Center in Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 5, assuming a prompt recovery, and that the North American run ends Nov. 28 with the second of two nights at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. A two-month break follows, then a tour of Asia, Australia and New Zealand that opens Jan. 27, 2027 at the Yokohama Arena in Japan.

Related coverage on this site includes the Chicks postponing a Los Angeles date, Cheap Trick stepping off the road and Noah Kahan's 2027 tour plans. Neither report says where a rescheduled Detroit date would sit against the Chicago show two days later, or whether it lands before the North American close. Rolling Stone's file stops at the hiatus; Billboard's carries the routing on to Yokohama.
